Ruth leads on communication for the Ringing and Nest Recording Team, is the lead editor for LifeCycle, the BTO magazine for ringers and nest recorders, and is the Managing Editor of Ringing & Migration (R&M), the journal of the BTO Ringing Scheme.

As communications lead for the Ringing and Nest Recording Team, Ruth's responsibilities include producing the annual bird ringing and nest recording report that is published in Ringing & Migration, editing and producing LifeCycle, maintaining the ringing element of the BTO website, producing the electronic newsletter that is sent to ringers and nest recorders and liaison with the BTO Communications Team.  Ruth is also the lead on a project to update guidance material for ringers and nest recorders and move publication of this material online.

As lead editor for LifeCycle, Ruth liaises with the editorial board over content, commissions articles, edits content and manages the production of the magazine.  As Managing Editor of Ringing & Migration, Ruth works with the editor and publisher to ensure papers are formatted, copy edited and published in a timely manner and she is the BTO contact for readers of the journal.
