Red-eyed Vireo

Introduction
A rare but more or less annual visitor from North America, records of this sparrow-sized warbler come mostly from south-west Britain and Ireland during September and October.
This migratory songbird winters across the north of South America, with a migration route that appears to pass over the western Atlantic.
Although animal food makes up 85%of its summer diet, the Red-eyed Vireo may be completely frugivorous (fruit-eating) during the winter months.
