Tufted Puffin
Introduction
This Pacific puffin was an unexpected visitor to Britain in 2009, following the sighting of one flying down the Swale Estuary in Kent. Seen by only seven observers and photographed, the species was added to the British List.
While reductions in the extent of Arctic sea-ice may mean that more individuals could occur, it is worth noting that many Tufted Puffin colonies have declined in numbers.
