BTO and its Partners collate data gathered by many thousands of volunteer citizen scientists on the status of UK breeding bird populations, both in terms of numbers and demographic rates, to form the annual BirdTrends report. The BirdTrends report was renamed in 2013; prior to this date it was known as Breeding Birds in the Wider Countryside: their conservation status.
About BirdTrends
For each species, users can quickly access the latest information on trends in population size, breeding performance and survival rates, as measured by our long-term monitoring schemes. It is complemented by BirdFacts species pages which provide summary information on status, distribution, biology and population trends.
The BirdTrends report brings information on these trends together to provide a synthesis of these changes across species groups. These are updated annually and may also be viewed through Trends Explorer.
